About ORINGO

ORINGO, which is the founder Xinru's nickname, symbolizes the quality products when establishing "ORINGO" Just as it's difficult to find delicious fruits in a vast forest, even if the fruits are not ultimately harvested, they still provide nourishing transformation to the land as they fall ripe.

ORINGO began to sprout in 2006. However, the seeds in the founder's heart had already been deeply rooted in those beautiful, innocent years growing up in a shoe factory...

Return to the Beautiful Era of Shoe Craftsmanship

In 1976, Taiwan experienced a golden age of the shoe manufacturing industry. Many years later, the craftsmanship of shoe-making has declined. We began to ponder whether we could return to the beautiful era of leather shoe craftsmanship and find a transformation for skilled shoemakers.

ORINGO is "more than just a shoe store." It starts from the spirit of shoemaking craftsmanship and extends into the refined details of the ORINGO gentleman's style. By rekindling friendships, it captures the warmth of human connections and depicts the essence of a beautiful life in Taiwan.

The Birth of ORINGO Leather Shoes

This is the birth of ORINGO leather shoes. Craftsmanship is a dynamic process, and we can only document the method of making a pair of leather shoes at this moment.

Many friends imagine the working environment of the artisans to be more elegant or perhaps more design-oriented. However, we want to present the authenticity of the vitality expressed through craftsmanship. Amidst the pounding and cutting, the warmth of the hands enters the shoes.

The Art of Shoe Craftsmanship

ORINGO develops its shoes based on the foot shape of Asians, using high-quality leather paired with classic gentleman shoe designs to create footwear that is unique to Taiwan.

One of its standout features is the leather sole shoes, which are exclusive to Taiwan. These shoes utilize leather soles from the Italian factory MARCA TORO, crafted using the meticulous Blake stitching method. The shoemakers use a knife to slice a 0.08 cm thin layer of leather on the sole for the internal stitching method, highlighting the lightweight and breathable characteristics of the leather sole.

A pair of leather-soled shoes requires over 100 steps in the production process, including cutting the leather, stitching the upper, lasting, making the sole, and removing the last. This intricate process demands collaboration from artisans with decades of experience, patiently waiting through the complicated shoe-making schedule to complete what is considered a handcrafted work of art.
